Mission Statement

The Training and Recruiting Division shall:

  • Establish rules, policies, qualifications, and standards for the employment, certification, and training of law enforcement officers and public safety telecommunicators.

  • Research, develop, and provide basic and advanced courses of instruction.

  • Ensure compliance with the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy Board Rules.

The pre-Academy Report Writing Requirement which had been schedule to take effect starting with the April 2010 BPOT Class #179 has been postponed until further notice.  Please refer to the following Postponement Letter

NOTICE
Many forms have been updated.  Please download the newest forms for application to the BPOT Academy, CBW Course, PST Academy, Instructor Certification, and Course Accreditation.
