“OPERATION NO MAS 2004” IN TAOS
(TAOS, NM) – State, Federal
and County law enforcement agencies took part in “Operation No Mas 2004”
in Taos and the surrounding area this week. Many outstanding arrest warrants
for criminal violations ranging from Traffic to various felonies were obtained
by the New Mexico State Police, US Marshal Service Southwest Investigative Fugitive
Team and the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department and were executed between
January 12th and 16th. Most of the warrants are for felony level violations.
The departments were broken up into six teams with three to four persons per
team. The roundup began on Thursday at around 3:00 pm. As of 11:30 am on Friday,
forty-five of the warrants had been cleared.
“The New Mexico State Police is committed to the community and will be
working vigorously to improve our quality of life”, Lt. Andy Montoya of
the New Mexico State Police said. “I really appreciate the cooperation
of the other law enforcement agencies, as well as tips from citizens, without
