Media Open House

(Santa Fe, NM)—The Department of Public Safety is hosting an open house for all media. The Cabinet Secretary, the Chief of the State Police, and other leaders will present an overview of the past year and be available for interviews. In addition to the presentations and interviews, tours of facilities will be possible, including the Crime Lab, Training Academy, and the Emergency Management Center. This will be an excellent opportunity to make contact with those that oversee public safety for the state.

This rare opportunity will give reporters the occasion to conduct interviews for end of year stories, legislative previews, and to answer questions about the topic of the day, whatever that may be.

The presentations will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 17th, 2003. It will start in the Law Enforcement Academy auditorium and proceed with tours of the complex. Photographers are encouraged.

The Law Enforcement Academy is located at the DPS complex in Santa Fe, 4491 Cerrillos Road.

Driving Directions: I-25 to the Cerrillos Road Exit. Drive north to Jaguar Drive (also known as Academy Drive on some maps). Turn west (or left) at the light. Entrance to the Academy is the first right turn. See attached map.
