New
Mexico Search and Rescue Review Board
A Governor-appointed Search and Rescue Review Board
evaluates the operation of the New Mexico Search and Rescue Plan, problems
on specific missions, and makes recommendations to the appropriate
authorities.
Other volunteers or agencies who wish to be used on search and rescue
missions, can apply to the State Review Board for State recognition.
When recognized, these resources are included in the State Search and
Rescue Resource Directory.
This directory identifies over 75 volunteer teams
and emergency response agencies. When a search and rescue resource
is needed, the Coordinator needs only to consult a Resource Directory
for organization specialties, and call-out procedures.

Volunteer Coordinators, or teams, can be activated for use in their local
area or under certain circumstances used statewide. Various gas and oil costs
are reimbursed to the volunteer by the state, if requested, and the state
supplies specific accident and liability coverage to all personnel that
have officially checked-in with the on-scene Incident Commander. |
