SANTA FE – On Friday, July 12, 2013 Department of Public Safety Special Investigations Agents, the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, and Santa Fe Police Department conducted a minor compliance and shoulder tap operation in the Santa Fe area.
On the minor compliance operation, the minor operatives visited sixteen locations of which one location served alcoholic beverages to minor operatives. The location that served alcoholic beverages to a minor operative was Jambo Café on Cerrillos Road, Santa Fe .
The server and the location were issued administrative citations for selling or giving alcoholic beverages to minors. The server will be referred to the district attorney’s office for selling or giving alcoholic beverages to minors.
On the shoulder tap operation, minor operatives asked seven males and three females at the Walmart Super Center on Herrera Drive in Santa Fe to purchase alcoholic beverages. None of the adults agreed to purchase alcoholic beverages for the minor operatives.
The Special Investigations Division is the designated lead agency for the enforcement of New Mexico’s Liquor Control Act and a major contributor in the state’s effort to reduce DWI.
