Chaves County- On Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 8:48 pm a New Mexico State Police Officer was patrolling in Roswell. The officer observed a silver Cadillac traveling at an extremely fast rate of speed.
The officer activated his emergency equipment, but the vehicle continued to flee and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle was traveling at a very fast rate of speed and traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of traffic on 2nd Street. The vehicle then lost control and hit a curb at the intersection of 2nd Street and Lea. This caused the rear passenger tire to go flat. The pursuit still continued.
The vehicle ultimately lost control in an alley between Missouri and Lea and was disabled. The suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot. NMSP officer’s continued the foot pursuit. The suspect was physically apprehended by NMSP officers after the short foot pursuit. He has been identified as Jeremy Sena (26) of Roswell NM. Mr. Sena is also involved in a Roswell Police Department shooting investigation. Mr. Sena was currently out on bond for an armed robbery/assault with intent to commit a violent felony case.
Mr. Sena has been charged with: Aggravated fleeing an Officer (4th degree felony); Reckless driving; Driving on a suspended/revoked license, etc.
Also NMSP’s aircraft, ABLE6, took an active role in this pursuit and provided air support to assist in the apprehension of this dangerous person. Roswell Police Department and well as Chaves County Sheriff’s Department also assisted and should be acknowledged for their support on this.
