State Police Participate with Acoma Tribal Police Department in an Active Shooter Exercise
Cibola County–On Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 9:30 a.m.; State Police will be conducting a joint active shooter exercise with Acoma Tribal Police. The location will be at the New Sunrise Regional Treatment Center in Acoma, NM. State Police is taking a strong stance in active shooter trainings with the New Mexico Tribal Police forces.
In light of the national occurrences of school shootings, theater shootings, and acts of terrorism that are plaguing our nation; Tribal Police and State Police are jointly training together to be able to effectively combat and deescalate an active shooter incident, should one arise.
Tribal Police and State Police are working in tandem in protecting and safeguarding its rural tribal communities.
