State Police Arrest State Employee for DWI

Santa Fe — On Thursday June 21, 2012, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a Drunk Busters call regarding a white SUV traveling westbound on Interstate 40 near mile marker 130.Laguna Tribal Police spotted the vehicle westbound. The vehicle was swerving all over the road and would not let traffic pass. Laguna Police stopped the vehicle at mile marker 114.

Laguna police called State Police to conduct the investigation, due to female driver being a non-tribal member. The State Police officer arrived and could smell alcohol on the female drivers’ breath, so she was asked to conduct field sobriety tests. The female failed the field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrest for DWI.

Denise K. Baker (52) of Albuquerque was taken to a local hospital and a blood draw was conducted to determine her blood alcohol content.

Baker is charged with Driving While under the Influence of an Intoxicating Liquor or Drugs and driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Baker was booked into the Cibola County adult Detention Center on a $1,200.00 bond.
