Santa Fe – On July 4th through July 8, 2012, the New Mexico State Police Aircraft Section will be participating in “Operation Ridge Line” which is a joint field operation in the Lordsburg/Deming boot-heel area of New Mexico. State Police will partner with the New Mexico National Guard Counter Drug Support Task Force and U.S. Customs and Border Protection for this project.

Mission Objectives:

• To detect and interdict persons conducting illegal weapons, human, and narcotic trafficking from Mexico into the United States.
• Detection and interdiction will be conducted by ground and air assets.

“Operation Ridge Line” is the first of several operations that the State Police Aircraft section will participate in through-out the year.
