Santa Fe – On Friday, June 21, 2013 Department of Public Safety Special Investigations Division and the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office along with the Santa Fe Police Department conducted a minor compliance and shoulder tap operation in Santa Fe.
On the minor compliance operation, the minor operative visited eighteen locations of which only one location served alcoholic beverages to the minor. The location which served an alcoholic beverage to the minor operative was Lulu’s Chinese Cuisine on Cerrillos Road.
The server and the location were issued administrative citations for selling or giving alcoholic beverages to minors. The server will be referred to the district attorney’s office for selling or giving alcoholic beverages to minors.
On the shoulder tap operation, minor operatives asked nine males and one female at Rodeo Plaza Liquors and Allsups locations to purchase alcoholic beverages. None of the adults agreed to purchase alcoholic beverages for the minor operatives.
The Special Investigations Division is the designated lead agency for the enforcement of New Mexico’s Liquor Control Act and a major contributor in the state’s effort to reduce DWI.
