Santa Fe — Members of the public have recently been contacting the New Mexico Department of Public Safety to inquire about the validity of online Concealed Carry training in New Mexico.

The Departments Special Investigation Division, Concealed Carry Unit has not approved any online classes. Such training does not comply with the guidelines set forth in the New Mexico Concealed Handgun Carry Act or associated rules and regulations.

New Mexico residents should be aware that the completion of an online class does not meet the requirements for the purpose of being licensed to carry a concealed handgun by the State of New Mexico.
