Santa Fe County- Over a three day period between August 22, 2013 and August 24, 2013; New Mexico State Police Investigation’s Bureau Agents , Santa Fe County Sherriff’s Detectives and Santa Fe City Police Department Detectives, worked an Organized Retail Crime (ORC) Blitz Operation.
Major retail stores throughout the Santa Fe community participated in the operation. The participating retail stores were: Wal-Mart; Target; Kohl’s; Santa Fe Malls; Lowes; Home Depot; and CVS Pharmacies.
Law enforcement worked closely with local retailers in executing the operation. The operation was designed to crack down on retail thefts and to investigate all other criminal activities that were observed at local retailer establishments.
There were twenty-six total arrests generated from the operation. These arrests included multiple charges ranging from: shoplifting, commercial burglary, narcotic violations, probation/parole absconders, and active warrants served. Sixteen warrants were cleared and twenty-two new charges were filed along with the 26 arrests made over the three day operation. All contacts and arrests were made at retail establishments.
