National Night Out, Santa Fe Style

SANTA FE-The Department of Public Safety presents the 29th Annual National Night Out on August 7th on the Plaza, downtown Santa Fe. The event will run from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The event will feature games, free food and free door prizes. Kasey the police dog will also be on hand to meet the public.

National Night Out is a unique crime/drug prevention event designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anticrime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

National Night Out involves over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, Canada and military bases worldwide.

This is a free event and the public is encouraged to come out for all the activities.
