SANTA FE- Governor Susana Martinez was the featured speaker for the 83rd Recruit Class Graduation Ceremony of the New Mexico State Police this morning in Santa Fe. Thirty-four new officers were sworn in by Judge Henrietta Sandoval-Soland. Many of the new officers were awarded their commission by family members who, themselves, are peace officers.Cabinet Secretary Gorden Eden welcomed the new class to the Department of Public Safety and thanked them for their future service to the state of New Mexico.
Across town another group was graduating, the Public Safety Telecommunicator Trainining Class #119 (also known as dispatchers). These thirty-five graduates will become the front line in dispatching officers to where they are needed in the community.
