Because any comprehensive gang strategy calls for coordinated approach between enforcement, prevention, intervention and re-entry efforts, the NMGTF actively participates in, and facilitates communication and collaboration between law enforcement, community groups, schools, social services agencies, and governmental organizations to address the factors that contribute to our gang problem.

The NMGTF primarily provides federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement and criminal justice agencies with training, intelligence, networking, and funding to enhance interdiction and enforcement efforts, with the goal of reducing criminal gang activity, including narcotics trafficking, throughout New Mexico.
