History

The Hobbs Forensic Laboratory was established on February 16, 2009 in Hobbs, NM for the purpose of providing controlled substance analysis to Southeastern regions of New Mexico.

Present Day

The Hobbs Forensic Laboratory currently provides essential controlled substance analysis to the Southeastern High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) regions of New Mexico. The Laboratory features state-of-the-art instrumentation, large examination areas, and individual offices for each member of the technical staff.

The Hobbs Forensic Laboratory is not currently accredited. However, the NMDPS Forensic Laboratories Bureau is actively seeking accreditation for the Hobbs Laboratory this year. The Hobbs Laboratory currently follows identical standards and procedures established and implemented by the Santa Fe and Las Cruces Forensic Laboratories.
