SANTA FE-Within the past week two comatose males were admitted to UNMH with unknown identities. Thanks to the Crime Lab at the Department of Public Safety in Santa Fe, police now know the identities ofthese victims.

On July 10th and 11th police submitted fingerprints from the individuals and within three hours of receiving their prints the Department of Public Safety Crime Lab was able to identify both victims.

Both of these individuals remain comatose. But thanks to the Crime Lab, police can get started working their cases but more importantly, notify their families.

Noreen Purcell, Forensic Lab Bureau Chief, says, “I’m always glad when I can help families get peace of mind.”

The Crime Lab in Santa Fe has processed more than 700 fingerprint cases in the past six months.

For a tour of the lab contact us and we’ll be happy to set it up.
