Catron County – New Mexico State Police and Motor Transportation Police have deployed additional officers to the Catron County area due to forecasted heavy rainfall in the next few days.

Officers will support and assist the Catron County Sheriff’s Department, New Mexico National Guard and citizens due to possible flooding as a result of flooding in the area of the Whitewater-Baldy Complex fire burn scar.

Officers will assist with security patrols, traffic control, evacuations, and calls for service as needed or requested by the Catron County Sheriff’s Department in Southern Catron County.
