Santa Fe – On July 22, 2012, 42 recruits reported to the New Mexico State Police training academy to start the rigorous 20 week training academy.
State Police Chief Robert Shilling welcomed the recruits and their families on Sunday morning.
The recruits will undergo an intense 20 week physical and educational training program in which they will learn a variety of the latest police tactics, law and emergency operations.
The 84th recruit academy is slated to graduate December 21, 2012. The New Mexico State Police is also actively recruiting for the upcoming training academy tentatively scheduled to begin on January 27, 2013.
